The Regroup project is part of a European collaboration aimed at developing an innovative industrial inspection solution, capable of guaranteeing optimal quality on high-throughput production lines.

Within this framework, Avenir Vision Industrie is developing a module able to recreate, within a few seconds, an inspection environment specific to a given product.

A set of numerical and rotary axes, combined with very high-resolution cameras, automatically repositions itself when a program is called up.

2022 — LAUNCH

AVI joins the consortium

AVI joins the R3GROUP consortium funded by Horizon Europe. Definition of the technical specifications for the industrial vision quality control modules.

2023 — BUILD

Module assembly & wiring

Mechanical design and assembly of the inspection module: assembly of sub-assemblies, integration of cameras and optics, electrical wiring and actuator connections.

2024 — AUTOMATION

Building the inspection sequence

Automation of the sub-assemblies, controlled via Modbus TCP/IP and EtherNet/IP. Implementation of the interface used to create inspection environments and sequences, full management of the material handling system and automatic positioning of the rotary axes.

NOVEMBRE 2024

Shipping and installation of the inspection module at GLN Plast

Dispatched from our workshop: the R3GROUP inspection module was shipped to the GLN Plast pilot plant in Leiria, Portugal — a fully instrumented plastic injection line. Installation and commissioning of the R3GROUP module on the GLN Plast site, with communication with the KUKA 6-axis robot for loading and unloading OK/NOK parts.

2025–2026 — IN PROGRESS

Production line testing & validation

Installation, fine-tuning and validation of the vision system on production lines. Participation in consortium review meetings, including the M36 Review Meeting hosted by Gorenje Orodjarna in Slovenia.

2027 — COMPLETION

Results publication & dissemination

Delivery of the final systems, publication of the scientific and industrial results at European level.
